Park Improvement Projects

The foundation supports a wide variety of park improvement projects. Donations support purchase of benches, signs, plaques, flags and other park amenities.
Central Point Little League Field Restoration Project
​
​The City of Central Point has taken ownership of the Central Point Little League Fields and will restore the facility. Noel Moore has donated $1.5 million for the project. Donations for specific elements such as fences, bleachers, dugout, etc. are being sought.
Flanagan Park Pollinator Garden
​
​The goal of this project is to build pollinator garden that will not only serve the needs of bees, butterfly, humming birds and other pollinators but also provide information to those interested in creating a garden of their own.
Plant a Thousand Daffodils
​​​
This project began three years ago and several thousand daffodils have been planted throughout the city so far. This year the focus will be on working with local elementary schools. Funds will support purchase of bulbs and other planting materials.
Central Point City Cemetery Improvement Committee
​​​
The Central Point Cemetery Improvement Committee is associated with the Parks and Recreation Foundation The goal of this committee is to raise funds for cemetery improvements. Projects will include tree maintenance, new signage, access to water and other projects.

My Veteran - My Hero Tribute Tree Program ​

This program provides families of military veterans with the opportunity to donate a tree to the city. Included with the tree will be a plaque that provides the name of the veteran along with a QR code linking to a webpage that will provide biographical information and a photo. Program will be implemented at Don Jones Memorial Park.

Recreation Program Scholarships

​The Central Point Parks and Recreation Foundation provides recreation program scholarships for youth, seniors and those with disability with low incomes allowing them to attend the wide variety of classes and programs available through Central Point Recreation Program.

Special Events
​​​
The Central Point Recreation program sponsor a wide variety of special events each year. The foundation provides support for these events by providing funds and materials such as bicycles for the July 4th Fun Run and for the annual Easter egg hunt and gifts for the Community Christmas event.

Small Grants for Students
​
​The Foundation provides funds for small grants of up to $500 for student projects that directly improve Central Point Park System.
